Quotes
"When Morning Edition started, we had our first overseas employee, Robert
Siegel. He was our man in London — and that was it. Now we have
people in Asia, Africa, Europe…all over the place. Clearly that makes
us better able to craft a program worthy of the audience we now have.
Sometimes the listeners know much more about the stories than I do." - Bob Edwards, Host
My most memorable moment was the
day that my dog appeared on Morning Edition. The next day, Bob
and I had to fess up to the audience and explain that I work from my
house. (The late) Abner became so popular that calls and letters came
in asking about my basset hound and asking if he was a Democrat or a
Republican. I'd go to fundraisers for member stations and see pictures
of Abner on promotions!"
