Send us your ride: a written story 300 words or less about outdoor adventure, ultra urbanism, facing fear or anything else that relates to this episode with Paisley Rekdal. We'll put our three favorites on the web and then put those three to a vote and the winner will receive your very own bag of new age tricks (ESTIMATED RETAIL VALUE $20)!! Entries are due two weeks after the airing of AFTR on WATC and winners will be announced on the web and notified by email one week before the next airing.

All entries must be received by the close of business on Saturday November 3, 2001. SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY BY EMAILTO: theride@npr.org . OR BY REGULAR MAIL TO: ALONG FOR THE RIDE, NPR, 635 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE, NW, WASHINGTON, DC 20001. All entries must include your name, address and an e-mail address or daytime telephone number. One entry per person. Entries will be reviewed by the AFTR staff. AFTR staff will select five entries to be placed on the AFTR website where they will be subject to an online vote by visitors to the AFTR website. THE ENTRY RECEIVING THE MOST ONLINE VOTES WILL BE THE WINNER. IN THE EVENT OF A TIE VOTE, THE WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN IN A RANDOM DRAWING FROM AMONG THE TYING ENTRIES. The Winner will be notified by email or telephone. Employees and immediate families of employees of NPR AND its Member Stations are not eligible to win. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or obtain the consent of a parent or guardian to participate.

All entries become NPR's property and will not be returned. Each participant consents to the use of his or her name and Ride ENTRY on this Web site, on the air, and in any or all media now or hereafter known, throughout the world, in perpetuity, for informational, ENTERTAINMENT and/or promotional purposes, without compensation. NPR is not responsible for damages, losses or injuries resulting from acceptance or use of the prize. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Winners will be required to verify his or her address, provide his or her social security number, and execute a Contestant Release Form, which must be returned to NPR within fifteen (15) days of attempted delivery. NPR will deliver the prize only after it receives the executed Contestant Release Form. The failure to return the executed Contestant Release Form within that time period or the return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the selection of THE ENTRY WITH THE NEXT HIGHEST NUMBER OF VOTES AS THE alternate winner. In the event of any other non-compliance with rules and conditions, the prize ALSO may be awarded to an alternate winner.
