Listen to the whole show

This week we look at some of our favorite moments on the show -- from 1999 and onward... (Originally aired Dec. 25, 2004)

Round 1

First he's a pop-tart defending herself against charges of bodily enhancement. (Listen)

Then he does one of the great pop-singers of all time a great disservice by trying to sing her biggest hit. (Listen)

We then revisit a show from 1998 which featured the most memorable lie one of our panelists ever told. (Listen)

Round 2

We revisit a show in which we took part in one of our favorite pasttimes: going down the hall and convincing This American Life host Ira Glass that, quote, "This time, we swear we won't humiliate you with stupid questions." He falls for it every time. (Listen)

We then return to early 2000 for a Who's Carl game with a listener contestant who could do more than just answer questions about the week's news. (Listen)

Next, we return to May of 2000 when Peter was on vacation, and All Things Considered host Robert Siegel agreed to fill in as guest host. After this question to a panelist, he stopped returning our phone calls. (Listen)

Then it's back to a show during which Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me got punk'd...but that's OK, the BBC fell for it too. (Listen)

Round 3

We take you back to early 2000 for one of our favorite examples of five line verse as featured in the "Listener Limerick Challenge". It's as intricate and satisfying as a good sax solo. (Listen)

Next it's to our first ever live show, recorded in January 2000 in Salt Lake City, when we found out just how good a storyteller we have in Roy Blount, Jr. and then another question in which Roy showed that he pays a bit too much attention to news from the world of Strip Clubs. (Listen)

That's followed by a Listener Limerick Challenge in which our panelists took the art of hinting the answer to a new high. (Listen)

Then we return to a show in which political correctness took a backseat to hilarity. (Listen)

Finally, we return to December of 1999 for a Bluff The Listener in which the contestant thought he'd found a foolproof way to win our prize.
