Nuclear Submarine Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Fifty years ago, the U.S. Navy launched the world's first nuclear submarine,
the USS Nautilus. Now a floating museum, the vessel shattered all submerged
speed and distance records and eventually became the first to travel under
the North Pole.
