Saxophonist/Clarinetist James Carter
"At any given part of the day, I'd hear the whole spectrum of music. I'm very grateful to have had that in the household."
   -- James Carter
On this show, high-powered tenor saxophonist James Carter shows why he's caused a sensation in the world of jazz since the mid-’90s. Carter can play in any jazz style, from the slap-tongue staccato of early-’20s tenors and Dixieland to swing, bop, free form and funk. While his style is reminiscent of influences like Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Carter has definitely developed his own unique voice. He joins Dr. Taylor's trio in some electrifying renditions of "I'll Remember April," "Sandu," "You Never Told Me That You Cared," and "Cottontail."
