Saxophonist Joe Lovano
"Listening to a lot of trumpet players and piano players, and drummers really taught me how to play and not to be just tied to my instrument."
   -- Joe Lovano
Joe Lovano is one of the most soulful and thought-provoking saxophonists on the jazz scene. Although the tenor is his main horn, in concert, you're also likely to hear him play just as majestically on alto, soprano, flute, and clarinet. While growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Lovano was exposed to jazz at an early age, thanks to his saxophone-playing father. With Dr. Taylor's trio, he delivers spine-tingling renditions of "Have You Met Miss Jones," "Chicago, "Sound of Love," and "How High the Moon."
