Regina Carter combines dazzling technique, exciting rhythm, and a gift for improvisation on an instrument that is sometimes under-recognized for its contribution to jazz -- the violin. On this ediiton, Carter delivers spellbounding renditions of Duke Ellington's "Come Sunday," Eddie Harris' "Listen Here," and Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain," among other tunes. She also entertains the audience with humorous ancedotes about growing up in Detroit and playing the violin.
