Trumpeter Ingrid Jensen plays with incredible grace, power and sensitivity; it's as clear as the tone she projects why she's one the brightest young stars in jazz today. While her playing reflects the influence of greats like Miles Davis and Clark Terry, Jensen brings her own unique approach to every performance. On this show, she also shares enlightening and humorous stories with a delightful Kennedy Center audience and joins Dr. Taylor's trio in fine renditions of Freddie Hubbard’s “Up Jumped Spring,“ Juan Tizol's "Caravan," Mary Lou Williams' "What's Your Story, Morning Glory," and an enchanting composition by her sister Christine entitled “Sylvan Vale.”
