   -- Henry Johnson
With roots that run deep into blues, gospel, and R&B, Chicago-born guitarist and singer Henry Johnson plays jazz classics with the artistry of a major jazz figure. He flawlessly blends contemporary sounds with more traditional jazz licks. On this show, Johnson joins Dr. Taylor's trio in some fine renditions of "Softly As In a Morning Sunrise," Wes Montgomery's "Theodora," "Sometimes I'm Happy," and Ray Noble's "Cherokee" and offers some insightful comments about his musical journey.
