Guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli
“[I]t’s really not technique. It’s just playing the guitar. It’s…just putting your fingers on a fingerboard.”
   -- Bucky Pizzarelli
This edition of Billy Taylor’s Jazz At The Kennedy Center features the lyrical and unabashedly swinging sound of legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli. This New Jersey native’s mastery of the seven-string guitar is unparalleled; his skills have continued to shine throughout a stellar career encompassing stints with jazz giants like clarinetist Benny Goodman, saxophonist Zoot Sims and violinist Stephane Grappelli. More recently, he’s performed superb duets with his son, guitarist-vocalist John Pizzarelli, Jr. Such rich and varied experiences make for both stimulating conversation and equally engaging musical encounters with the Billy Taylor Trio.
